Anyway, the McKew thing also reminds us of the inherent bias in the BBC. Take it away, Daily Mail:
The Liberal Party leader, 68, who had looked all but unassailable just a year ago, even faced losing his own seat last night to Labor's Maxine McKew, who once worked in London as a BBC typist.
Hmm. Nick Minchin did look like he was about to loose the plot a few times, especially when the crowd went crazy every time they showed the seat of Bennelong. He looked on the verge of having a go at dear Julia at one point… but he held it together pretty well. All in all, it was quite amusing.
All in all, I have to say that I was pretty disappointed at the complete lack of dummy spitting to be seen on election night all round. I felt vaguely cheated.

A definite highlight for me was hearing Kerry O'Brien slip up and say "we now have a 10% swing to the ABC... I mean Labor."

Yeah, I was waiting for the Liberal party guy on the panel (was it Nick Minchin..... can't really remember) to scream ABC bias, there......
It was Nick Minchin. He is always very dignified.
